Camozzi Innovation System

"Camozzi Innovation System" constitutes from a certain view point "the way things are done" in the Camozzi Group and is closely linked to concepts of "Total Quality Management (TQM)", "Lean Production System (LPS)" and "Supply Chain Management (SCM)".
This activities management system has been developed over more than ten years with the aim "to completely eliminate all waste and inefficiencies" in trying to implement the most innovative methods in all sectors.
The goal of Camozzi is to "satisfy the customer by offering high quality products and services as quickly as possible while respecting both environment and society."
This means optimizing all internal processes and activities and at the same time collaborating with suppliers and customers as true partners.
Continuous, systematic and structured innovation
Camozzi Group’s companies are actively engaged in the continuous implementation of the most innovative management methods affecting various business areas, from productive processes organization to the provision of additional services, from the optimization of preventive maintenance activities to the management of shared information using visible planning techniques.
OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
Control of the efficiency level of machines through continuous monitoring of inefficiency causes such as availability (loss due to inactivity), quality (defects loss) and performance (speed loss). A technique used in Camozzi’s manufacturing plants.
RTS (Rapid Setting Tool)
Integrated approach in the Lean production theory aimed at reducing setup time (or changeover times) through categorization of timeframes and reorganization of activities related to the machine setup. A technique used in Camozzi’s manufacturing plants.
5S (SEIRI-separate, SEITON-order, SEISO-clean, SEIKETSU-standardize, SHITSUKE-maintain)
The 5S represent the 5 steps that underpin the implementation of a systematic and repeatable method, born within the Lean Production logics, aiming to optimize labor standards, and thus to improve operating performance. Applied in the production plants of Camozzi Automation and Camozzi Machine Tools.
TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
A technique that has as its goal the continuous improvement of managing techniques and organizational issues related to maintenance, applied to all companies in the Camozzi Group.
VSM (Value Stream Mapping)
Value Stream Mapping is a technique used in activities related to Lean Production, which provides analysis and mapping of the flow of materials and information necessary to produce products/services, creating added value for the customer and trying to optimize the activities creating the added value and eliminate those which don’t.
This activity represents the starting point of all innovative projects in the Camozzi Group.
VRP (Variety Reduction Program)
Technique used in design to reduce the variety of components. It has been used in Camozzi Automation and Camozzi Machine Tools
LET'S KAIZEN
Kaizen is the Japanese word the equivalent for "continuous and systematic improvement " and describes an environment in which the company and all individuals working for it are proactively committed to improve processes through the continuous contribution of small changes in their work area. This philosophy underlies the organization of all Camozzi’s plants.
QFD (Quality Function Deployment)
The QFD methodology has as its goal to analyze the demands of the customer/user and turn them into features which represent (quality characteristics), define the quality and value of the finished product. The development process must ensure that this quality is developed even in the components and subassemblies as well as in individual elements of the production process. QFD is one of the product development stages in companies of the Camozzi Group.
FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis)
It is an analysis methodology related to failure or defect conditions of a process, product or system that evaluates systematically, for each type of fault, the probability of occurrence, severity of effect and the possibility of detection after a tracking control in order to assign a priority level to each risk so to plan corrective actions or improvements. It is applied during product development in companies of the Camozzi Group.
VISIBLE PLANNING
A project management technique used to anticipate problems and share information with all the project team through boards and post-it notes representing activities and typical problems of Product Development. There is also a "variant" named ‘vertical visible’ typically used in the technical department to visualize people loads.
SYNCHRONIZED BLOCKS
A technique used to manage job orders and based on the standardization of all activity times, starting with those of the Technical Office until the final assembly; it’s successfully applied in Camozzi Machine Tools. For this purpose process mapping and billboards have been prepared and located on the floor in order to represent all the assembly activities that allow to check the work progress and highlight critical issues.
