Lean Philosophy

All Camozzi Group companies, regardless of the sector in which they operate, adopt the same 'Lean Philosophy' for the management of processes and activities. This concept is at the heart of much more than just the production environment.

Every activity and process across the company has the same goal: to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

At Camozzi this is achieved primarily through the empowerment of staff at all levels. Every employee has the ability to monitor and stop the production cycle should a manufacturing defect occur, which means that immediate corrective measures can be taken, and error messages are also displayed in real-time on the centralised control system. All of this ensures the highest quality standards are maintained.

In addition, Camozzi employs 'Just in time' techniques, whereby each process only produces what is needed for the next process, exactly when it is required and in precisely the quantities needed, resulting in a considerable reduction of inefficient intermediate buffers and unnecessary costs of storage.

The main production facility of the Camozzi Automation Division is organized in “work isles” which are  dedicated to producing individual products which have many possible variations, therefore providing greater flexibility and speed.

For the companies involved in projects of greater complexity such as the machine tools made by Innse Berardi and Ingersoll or the cotton spinning machines manufactured by Marzoli, the individual contracts are managed and with the aid of specific software designed to optimize the activities from the components procurement, to the operations sequence management.

This type of management is only possible when all functions and departments are involved, including the automated warehouses, and internal mechanical departments which produce and maintain the tooling and other necessary equipment .
