The Machine Builder will make changes as directed by the Master Builder and request changes as needed.

Terms and Competences and experience requested

Competence and Responsibilities

Level 1 (Class C)

  • Perform assembly duties as instructed by trainer and/or assigned by supervisor:
  • Basic mechanical assembly using the below tools
  • Basic fluid assembly using the below tools
  • Material handling using crane, fork lift
  • Assembly procedures: ENOC management
  • Use scissor and man lifts during assembly phases
  • Ability to work with the following tools: wrenches, calipers, micrometers, Air + spirit levels, drills, taps, hand grinder, torque wrench, dial indicator, chains, slings
  • Ability to read assembly and detailed mechanical drawings, fluid and electrical schemes
  • Knowledge about mechanic, pneumatic, hydraulic fields
  • Work with a senior machine builder to acquire knowledge about spindle assembly
  • Ability to check and set proper gears backlash through shim sizing (bevel gears, worm gears, straight gears etc.)
  • Ability to properly size shims in order to get the correct preload on bearing
  • Keep work area clean and safe
  • Perform checkout tests on spindle unit and record into documentation: spindle runout, end play, side play, drawbar force, drawbar stroke

Competence and Responsibilities

Level 2 (Class B)

  • Perform assembly duties as instructed by trainer and/or assigned by supervisor:
  • Mechanical assembly using the below tools
  • Material handling using the below tools
  • Ability to work with the following tools: Electronic level, Precision Gauge Blocks, hydraulic jack, chains, slings, feeler gauge, square, dynamometer, multi-meter, taper gauges
  • Ability to read tolerance requirements and use the correct tools to measure them
  • Ability to pressure check lines for leakage and troubleshoot them
  • Perform head geometry with granite table and dial indicator
  • Use manual lathe, grinder and mill in light shop machine to prepare components needed during assembly
  • Wire electrical components on spindle
  • Knowledge of different fittings (NPT, NPTF, BSPP, BSPT, SAE etc.) and ability to pipe them correctly

Level 3 (Class A)

  • Perform assembly duties as instructed by trainer and/or assigned by supervisor:
  • Use vibration monitoring equipment to test spindle and release report
  • Use balancing machine for spindle shafts
  • Check INA encoder with PWM8 and PWM20
  • Make customized tools in order to test spindle units
  • Ability to choose correct seal from the catalogue based on groove dimension

Other Requirements

  • Travel domestic and International when required as per Ingersoll Service Policy.
  • Work overtime when required in order to meet company schedule requirements.

Compensation Salary

  • Level 1: $17 - $22.50 USD/Hr
  • Level 2: $23 - $25.50 USD/Hr
  • Level 3: $26 - $30 USD/Hr

  • Human Resources employees;
  • Employees tasked with candidate evaluation;
  • Parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies.
